The Open and Non Pro Two Rein qualifiers for the National Reined Cow Horse Association World Championship Show presented by John Deere competed Monday afternoon to earn a spot in the World Championship Finals, which is part of the Fort Dodge Animal Health NRCHA Celebration of Champions. The Finals, which will feature the top ten in each class from the preliminary round, will be held February 5-6 at the First Community Credit Union Spur Arena in San Angelo, Texas.
Topping the field of 17 in the Open Two Rein division was Chris Dawson on MH Boon In My Blood, owned by Sandy Jirkovsky. MH Boon In My Blood, by Bodee Boonsmal and out of Royal Lenabell, will compete Friday afternoon for a World Championship.
Nelle Murphy and Just A Sparknshine led the field of Non Pro Two Rein finalists with a score of 429.5. Just A Sparknshine, by Shining Spark and out of Just Kitty, is owned by Nelle’s father, Don Murphy.
